Pmod modules communicate with system boards using 6, 8, or 12-pin connectors that can carry multiple digital control signals, including SPI and other serial protocols. Pmod modules allow for more effective designs by routing analog signals and power supplies only where they are needed, and away from digital controller boards.
Pmod™ devices are Digilent’s line of small I/O interface boards that offer an ideal way to extend the capabilities of programmable logic and embedded control boards. They allow sensitive signal conditioning circuits and high-power drive circuits to be placed where they are most effective - near sensors and actuators.
Pmod™ is a simple header pinout standard (PDF) defined by Digilent. There’s a (free) license for this, but only if we actually call it Pmod. So I won’t - I’ll simply refer to the two variants as 6-pin and 12-pin headers… If the board has indeed the female connectors then they're for what's called male headers. At the left there's the "straight" version, right the "right-angle" version. These are for PCB mount as well, and with the straight connector your satellite board will be vertical, while with the right angle connector it will be in the development board's plane. 2020-07-30 2014-12-30 DVI PMOD.
Each row has 3.3V (VCC), ground (GND) and 4 data pins. Using both rows gives 8 data pins in total. The PMOD connectors on all Avnet boards are P/N Samtec SSW-106-02-F-D-RA. As you can see from that website, samtec makes lots of mating connector options.
PMOD connectors Aug 24, 2016. Last week’s post used the 12-pin “Pmod” connector on my FPGA board to generate the X, Y, and Z signals.. Pmod™ is a simple header pinout standard (PDF) defined by Digilent.
In general ADI has adopted the extended SPI connector for all PMOD devices which have an SPI interface. It provides flexibility to add interrupts, general purpose I/O, resets, and other important digitally controlled functions. Above is the connection to each of the PulSAR PMOD boards to the SPI PMOD connector.
I don't have a part number, but they make the receptacle that is a single, goes on the 0.025 post, with crimp terminals. This is the connector you see on JTAG programmers. My bet is that Harwin makes the compliment, with pins. I added an axe_uartlite to enable connection of the PMOD bridge to the axi bus.

The MAXPICO2PMB Register Map Tool is a Windows application that interfaces with the MAXPICO2PMB adapter board. The user can import *.regmap files that contain the unique I 2 C register map information and register field descriptions of an integrated circuit. This Pmod has a 12-pin connector. Table 2 provides the pinout for this connector. The I2S Playback design’s ports need to be assigned to the FPGA pins that are routed to this connector as listed. Table 2. Two six-pin peripheral modules can be connected to a single twelve-pin host connector via a twelve-pin to dual six-pin splitter cable. The last thing you need to do in Vivado is to “Export Hardware” under “Files->Export”. Make sure you select “Include bitstream” in the windows that pops up. Hereafter “Launch SDK”, also under “Files” and select OK in the windows that shows up.
